KANSAS CITY—More than 150 communities from around the world are just over a month away from celebrating the seventh annual Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Held Nov. 17-23, Global Entrepreneurship Week will feature a number of large-scale events, including the international Get in the Ring competition.
The North American Startup Clash will be held Nov. 7 at the Midland Theatre in Kansas City with the international Get in the Ring finals being held Nov. 21 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Kansas City’s FitBark is one of five U.S. finalists competing for the title of national title and a chance at up to $1 million in angel funding.
Founded in 2008 by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, Global Entrepreneurship Week has quickly grown to include more than 25,000 events, activities and competitions in the span of one week.

Other highlights of the week include the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, launched by President Obama in 2009, held Nov. 20-21 in Marrakech, the first African city to host the event. Global Startup Battle, a competition between than 250 Startup Weekends across the world, also will take place during Global Entrepreneurship Week.
