More than 100 people gathered at Gravitate, located in downtown Des Moines’ Midland Building, throughout the day for open co-working and educational sessions on a variety of topics.

The conference continued on Friday a few blocks away at the Kirkwood with six speakers sharing their personal stories of innovation and building a business.

While not all of them hail from Iowa, this year’s six I/OWA conference speakers all have some tie or connection to the Iowa entrepreneurial community. The day’s speakers included Bunchball founder Rajat Paharia; Modest Inc. CEO Harper Reed; Techstars managing director Nicole Glaros; Seed Here Studio co-founder Amanda West; Geonetric founder and CEO Eric Engelmann; and Sqwiggle co-founder Matt Boyd.
