It’s been six and a half years since I discovered firsthand what our community had that was unique. I was still traveling between coasts and everywhere in between and every time I came home I met someone else who was focused on building something they were passionate about.

Soon after—as many of you who’ve been along for the ride since Day 1 know—I realized the energy and ideas weren’t exclusive to Nebraska and the Silicon Prairie News team expanded into Iowa, Missouri and Kansas.

Over the course of the last several years our community has undergone a forward-leaning transformation as we continue developing into our own unique version of a startup community over the coming years. That being said, even with the developments over the years, there’s still great opportunity ahead.Router_Ventures_Jeff_Slobotski

That brings me to where I am today, quickly approaching the end of 2014. Over the last several months I’ve wrestled with a few ideas of launching something new. There’s an opportunity to build something that provides services to the different players within the region—as well as across the country—that will work to amplify and connect what’s happening here to the activity in other major hubs across the world.

So after some time of thinking through what’s next, I’m excited to announce the next project on my journey with the debut of Router Ventures. Router will work to connect its partners, companies and founders to the resources, talent and expertise needed to achieve the greatest opportunity for success. It’s a company that will leverage authentic, strategic relationships to advance driven founders and their goals beyond geography and their communities. We’ll be working to secure the most effective resources for our partners, wherever they may be.

As a result, Router Ventures’ goal is to continue raising the level of visibility and connectivity for the companies in our region and beyond that are working hard to take their business to the next level.

A tremendous amount of thanks goes to Ben Lueders of Fruitful Design who developed the identity and initial site and who I’m thrilled to be working with!

You can visit the site at RouterVentures.com and follow all the of the developments on the socialwebs via Twitter at @routerventures and on Facebook at Facebook.com/RouterVentures.

Router Ventures is officially open for business and I look forward to working and reconnecting with you over the coming months, and am excited for what’s in store for 2015 and beyond!
