Cloud-native compliance and security company OpsCompass has acquired recognized development leader Agape Red to accelerate product roadmap and meet growing client demand for transformational business applications.

OpsCompass is an Omaha-based company founded in 2017 to bring security and operational compliance tools to public cloud platforms such as Amazon’s AWS and Microsoft’s Azure. The company’s founders, Manny Quevedo and John Grange, have deep experience in data center compliance and application infrastructure, with both previously building successful companies based in the Midwest.

The acquisition of Agape Red, a local Omaha software development consultancy, provides OpsCompass with key development strength to augment their existing product team. This enhancement allows OpsCompass to both build cloud-native software for its clients as well as engage in more advanced consulting surrounding cloud automation and DEVOPS.

As for Agape Red, the plan is to continue to offer software consulting services. Dave Kerber, the CEO of Agape Red, announced the acquisition.

“We are really excited to continue to work with Manny and his team. OpsCompass has been an excellent partner, and we are excited to begin our work together in a more formal way,” Kerber said.

Kerber explained that he believed that Agape Red would continue to provide outstanding service to its current clients, with plans for continued growth as part of its effort to build great software.

The biggest change according to Kerber was the ability for Agape Red to leverage capital resources and target bigger projects due to the scale created by OpsCompass’ flagship SaaS solution, Helm.

“It allows us to extend our development services to larger clients, something that has been difficult in the past,” said Kerber.

The next major milestone for OpsCompass and its newly augmented product team is the release of their compliance module for Helm, which will bring automated and real-time HIPAA and NIST compliance to Azure and later AWS. The team has also been busy supporting go-to-market activities across the region including their own unique event series called Lighthouse.

“Enhancing our product development team was a high priority for us and a direct response to customer demand for cloud-centric capabilities,” said John Grange, CTO of OpsCompass.

“Our new compliance module is the first result of our new product team led by Dave Kerber, and the first in a slew of upcoming releases that will bring OpsCompass into multiple clouds and bring delivery of deeper functionality in areas like security and IoT,” said Grange.

Recently, OpsCompass hosted a Lighthouse event in Omaha in collaboration with Mesosphere, a leading company in the cloud-native application space and recently ranked as the third fastest growing software company in the world by Inc. Magazine.

OpsCompass, along with CIO Forum, announced the Lighthouse Awards to further support and highlight the local community. The awards acknowledged the accomplishments of two outstanding contributors – Byron L. Diamond and Jim Linder, MD – to the security and growth of Nebraska business, technology, and public safety.
