Tickets are still available for BarCamp Des Moines 2010. Tickets will remain on sale at barcampdsm.com through Friday of this week, but only those purchased by 5 p.m. today will be guaranteed a T-shirt.

BarCamp kicks off with an opening party at 7:30 p.m. this Friday night at the Des Moines Social Club (1408 Locust St). Doors open to the main event, taking place at the Des Moines Central Public Library (1000 Grand Ave), the next day at 9 a.m. Sessions start shortly after and continue until 1 p.m. with lunch to follow.

For more on BarCamp, see this description from the event’s website:

Barcamp is a series of unaffiliated “un-conferences”, or rather conferences without a speaker list, without a fixed schedule, and without remorse, that take place all around the world.

The open format offers attendees the unique opportunity to network, learn and communicate what they are most passionate about!  Basically, we’re looking for people who are passionate about a topic to join us on December 4 to talk about their topic. We’re loosely grouping the event into three tracks: creativity, entrepreneurship and technology. There is no agenda published ahead of time. Simply buy a ticket for $5, show up that morning and sign up for a spot on the board to present (or don’t present, just show up to participate – your call).

You can bring slides, examples, or just talk off the top of your head. It’s up to you.

For more information on the BarCamp concept, see our past coverage of BarCamp Des MoinesBarcamp Omaha.
