This week, the Omaha Public Library is holding a series of Community Forums to gather Omaha residents to hear their thoughts on the future of the library in Omaha. If you’re in Omaha, this is your chance to participate in the visioning process and contribute ideas on how the library can better serve the city.
Omaha Public Library board member Stuart Chittenden sums it up nicely:
The library is currently conducting all sorts of information gathering exercises with the community. To me, key segments of that audience include startups, entrepreneurs, techies, creatives, etc. In my view, our future Library will be an immensely useful information and technological resource, business hub and incubator for innovative minds. But we need input around that in this strategic planning process.
I couldn’t agree more. If you’re interested in helping to shape the future of the Omaha Public Library, make plans to attend one of the Community Forum events this week. Additionally, you can take a few moments and fill out an online survey to share your thoughts with the library.
