Overland Park, Kan. is home to a brand-new coworking space. The KC Commons, which occupies the old Ford dealership building, was renovated in 2001 after a fire. Andrew Stanley, who manages the space, hopes it can now be a productive place for Johnson County residents.

KC Commons had its grand opening party over the weekend, and I took the opportunity to look around. If you are interested in seeing the facility or renting a desk, there are still some openings available.

A brick denoting the historic nature of the building greets all visitors to KC Commons.

A front conference room, adorned with holiday decorations, looks out onto the street.

A room for daily drop-ins is located on the ground floor (left). Upstairs, there’s a conference room.

The facility includes desks for use by daily drop-in coworkers.

KC Commons offers plans that include access to a dedicated workspace (left) or a private office space (right).

The unique space has an upstairs level and includes mailboxes for full-time desk customers.

The open upstairs area features a variety of workspaces.

A loft houses additional workspaaces.
