StartupIowa today announced another new startup-centric event coming to “Silicon Sixth Avenue” in downtown Des Moines: the central Iowa portion of the inaugural Iowa Startup Fair (ISF), which will take place from 3-6 p.m. on Jan. 31.
The ISF is billed by its organizers as “a statewide opportunity for Iowa technology startups to show off their products and services at no cost to the local community.” For the central Iowa portion, startups from across the area will set up informational tables at the Midland, Bank of America, and Liberty buildings to display their work for an audience of business, investment and civic leaders and other interested community members.
Though those three buildings will form one hub for the central Iowa event, organizers say additional locations may be announced in the coming days. Other regions across the state are also expected to announce similar events as part of the ISF.

StartupIowa is a statewide initiative, launched under the umbrella of the Startup America Partnership, that aims to provide resources and visibility to Iowa entrepreneurs. Its mission includes providing resources and connections to help young companies grow; supporting regional startup ecosystems; and recognizing startups as the drivers of the economy.
The ISF is free, but exhibitor space is limited, so startups are encouraged to register soon. Companies interested in participating can sign up on the event’s registration page.
