AIM Institute, an Omaha nonprofit with a mission to empower communities, organizations and individuals through technology, recently opened nominations for its annual Technology Celebration and Awards event April 16.
Among the seven categories, startups in recent years have made appearances in the Technology Innovator of the Year and Technology Company of the Year categories. Sports video startup Hudl won Innovator of the Year in 2011 and mobile gaming company SkyVu Entertainment took home the honors last year.
Selection is based on the nominees’ contributions, either through sustained performance or a special notable achievement, to the region’s reputation for excellence and innovation in information technology, according to AIM’s website.
Nominations, which are open through Jan. 31, can be submitted on AIM’s website. The event is scheduled to be held at the CenturyLink Center in conjunction with the organization’s annual business and IT conference Infotec.
