The opportunity to compete in the first Hackovate Health app competition is coming to a close soon. Feb. 4 is the idea submission deadline.*

The competition challenges entrepreneurs to dream up an app that could help consumers navigate today’s health care landscape.

Hosted by early-stage startup accelerator Think Big Partners and tax services provider H&R Block, Hackovate Health will choose ten finalists in early February. Those finalists will present their ideas Feb. 26 at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo.

Up for grabs is three prizes from H&R Block – $15,000 for first, $5,000 for second and $2,500 for third – and the opportunity to meet with the company’s senior management. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges.

For competitors from outside of the region, Hackovate is offering a travel scholarship covering 100 percent of the competitor’s travel costs.

Registration to the Feb. 26 Hackovate finale is now available, as well.

Update Jan. 30 – Originally Jan. 31, the application deadline has been extended to Feb. 4.
