Earlier this week the Des Moines-based team behind Hatchlings released its latest game, Hatchlings Match. On Thursday, the game’s creator, Brad Dwyer, published a post on Hatchlings’ blog reflecting on the importance of Facebook integration after the game amassed more than 10,000 users. He explains that the day Hatchlings Match launched, the game drew 5,000 users in less than 12 hours, tripping a false reading in an automatic abuse-detection algorithm built into Facebook. Although the application was quickly restored, for 48 hours the game was without Facebook integration. “It’s pretty obvious where the ban happened and also where open graph was re-approved,” Dwyer wrote. “The difference between the peaks and the valley? 800-900 new users per hour when Facebook was enabled versus 10-20 new users per hour without Facebook integration.” — Source: Hatchlings blog
