BigDataSummitKC will now be running during the same time as Techweek Kansas City, festival coordinators announced. Techweek will be September 14-20; BigDataSummitKC will be September 16-17.
Techweek is widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading technology conferences. This will be their first year in Kansas City.
“Techweek continues to be impressed by the dynamic tech community in Kansas City,” says Allison Konkel, chief strategy officer at Techweek. “In partnering with the BigDataSummit, we continue to work toward bringing the community together around a common goal to support entrepreneurship.”
Techweek Kansas City expects up to 3,000 attendees for the inaugural event.

Last year BigDataSummitKC drew over 500 attendees over 3 days to discuss everything Big Data. The event welcomed industry leaders such as IBM, Intel, Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR, Bime Analytics, and Datastax.
“Our goal has always been to produce an inclusive, content-rich experience for attendees and presenters around the emerging technologies that make Big Data the hottest topic in IT today,” said Don Peterson founder and organizer of the BigDataSummitKC.
Techweek will also be hosting the final round of the LaunchKC Grants Competition. Tech entrepreneurs will be competing for ten $50,000 grants, plus free office space, mentors, and services, to grow their business in Kansas City. Applications open March 31. Visit launchkc.org for details.
