Iowa’s largest entrepreneurship and innovation event, EntreFEST, is accepting applications for speakers and breakout sessions for next year’s event. The event will run May 18-20, 2016, in Iowa City, Iowa.
“We take a practitioners-helping-practioners approach to speaker selection. We love speakers who’ve been in the trenches,” said Andy Stoll, the event’s lead organizer. “There’s something about having your feet held to the fire that breeds deep understanding. The best speakers are those who can translate that knowledge and experience into a great talk, activity or discussion.”
This year’s event included over 100 speakers and sessions, covering everything from small business, corporate innovation, to high-growth startups.
Speakers included Seth Godin, Ben Milne of Dwolla, Patrick Riley of Global Accelerator Network, and Trevor Owens, author of The Lean Enterprise. It also included several entrepreneurs from the broader region.

“Last year, we had speakers from nine states outside of Iowa. Nebraska clearly had the largest non-Iowa contingent,” said Stoll. “We had most of the teams from NMotion join us with their fearless leader–and Silicon Prairie Champion of the Year!–Brian Ardinger. Jill Liliedahl of SitStay.com filled a 25-seat room with what looked like 70 people for a conversation on Sheryl Sandberg’s recent NYTimes article on Why Women Stay Quiet In Meetings. I was personally very inspired to hear Shonna Dorsey, Sumeet Jain and Rahul Gupta share the story of launching their respective coding schools (Interface and Omaha Code School).”
Submissions are due Friday, October 15, 2015. To apply, visit the EntreFEST website.
