Over 700 software developers from across the region gathered last week for the 13th annual Heartland Developers Conference. The event was held at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in La Vista, Nebraska.
The three day event included everything from hands-on workshops to professional development advice, as well as demos of fun new technology like the Microsoft Hololens, sponsored by Deliveron.
The keynote speaker for this year was Tarah Wheeler who spoke on “Hacking Leadership: From Engineer to Executive.”
“She was very genuine,” said Shayla Kelly, Events Marketer for AIM. “I thought it was a talk everyone could enjoy. It was a good way to start the day.”

Several presenters from area startups included Paul Oliver of Vosaic, Rob Hruska from Hudl, Matt Huck from WEX Health, and Grant Stanley and Josh Hoberman from Bric, among others.
“This is a good event for those outside of Omaha to connect here,” said Kelly. “I’ve seen our speakers really engage with our attendees. That’s cool to watch.”
