UPshow closed a $6 million Series A venture funding round on March 14.
TDF Ventures and Jump Capital led the round with other undisclosed investors participating. The company plans to use the funds to fuel growth and enhance product development.
The company, based in Chicago, was founded in 2015 by Adam Hirsen and Matt Gibbs. Upshow has created an in-venue consumer engagement platform that connects businesses and their patrons through social media.
The technology is designed to transform screens in bars, restaurants, gyms, and healthcare establishments from static signage into a platform for interactivity. Business customers can control what their patrons are seeing on their screens with a single device.
The platform provides a number of features that are fully programmable. For example, the technology enables businesses to showcase marketing and engage audiences with customized graphics and videos, as well as interactive games such as trivia. Users can track social analytics and interact with patrons through social media in real time.
