Des Moines startup Bawte gained some national recognition Friday when co-founder John Jackovin took second place in the ReleaseIT at SXSW pitch competition. “It’s always a good idea to pitch any time you can,” Jackovin told the Des Moines Register. “Being at SXSW, it makes it an even better idea. While I would have loved to have won it, getting second place shows Iowa startups can compete anywhere.” Ten startups competed to be named the judges’ new product most likely to find success. Last week Bawte relaunched its web and mobile platforms to focus more on consumer interaction and support. — Source: Des Moines Register
