Nominations are open for the annual Coolest Thing Made in Nebraska competition
The competition is hosted by the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Nebraska Manufacturing Alliance. Nominations for the competition close July 31. Following a public voting period, the winner will be recognized at the NE Chamber Manufacturing Summit on Oct. 6.

The University of Nebraska system ranks in the top 100 globally in U.S. utility patents
The National Academy of Inventors released its annual rankings of universities with the highest number of U.S. utility patents granted. For the 2024 calendar year, the University of Nebraska system ranked No. 82 globally and No. 49 domestically with 47 patents in total.
