Food and water security focus of the 2025 Water for Food Global Conference at UNL
The event is run by the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute at the University of Nebraska and is scheduled from April 28 to May 2 in Lincoln. The conference is focused on tackling global food and water security. Registration for in-person attendance is due April 4.

AIM Institute revives the Infotec conference this spring
Infotec 2025 is a business and technology conference that will address topics like tech trends, workforce development and growing the tech industry in Nebraska. The event will take place at the Kiewit Luminarium in Omaha on Monday, May 5. Early bird registration and the call for speakers are open for a few more days.

Israeli-U.S. MedTech startup returns to Omaha roots with Right at Home partnership
An Israeli MedTech startup is partnering with an Omaha-based in-home care franchise to help patients with chronic respiratory diseases manage their condition at home. RespirAI Medical and Right at Home received significant grant funds to continue development on an AI-powered wearable device for COPD patients. The startup’s technology stems from research that originated at UNO.

Five Nebraska communities now certified as inland port authorities
The Nebraska Municipal Inland Port Authority Act authorized the state’s Department of Economic Development to certify five communities to form inland port authorities. South Sioux City was recently designated as the fifth and final inland port authority under the act, which seeks to incentivize development projects and attract companies to the state.
