Last night, AIM Tech Celebration welcomed nearly 450 of the Silicon Prairie’s tech professionals and supporters to the Omaha Design Center for an awards ceremony recognizing those who have made a profound impact within the local tech community.

“The annual AIM Tech Celebration was a vibrant and engaging night,” said Victoria Novak, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at AIM. “People from all walks of life came out to celebrate amazing students, educators, tech leaders and innovative companies in our community. It’s very exciting to be part of an organization that inspires and changes people’s lives through personal and professional experiences in technology.”

Actor and comedian Andy Buckley from NBC’s hit comedy The Office emceed the event, playing up his former role as Dunder Mifflin Paper Company CFO, David Wallace. Buckley handed out Dunder Mifflin mugs to winners, snapped selfies, and shared clips and stories from The Office.

“Our winners exemplify the best of the Tech community in teaching, leadership, innovation, and technical expertise,” said Kandace Miller, President and CEO of AIM. “What makes the difference in truly building the tech talent community is about the service of people. The night features those that willingly give their time and talents to make the Silicon Prairie thrive.”

Nine awards were handed out to individuals and companies who have made outstanding achievements in tech over the last year.

K-12 Tech Educator of the Year – Charlie Cuddy, Omaha Bryan High School
College Tech Educator – Jeremy Harris Lipschultz, University of Nebraska at Omaha
Tech Leader – Dennis J. Kirlin, Farm Credit Services of America
Tech Champion of the Year – Timothy Ingledue, Farm Credit Services of America
Community Builder – Heartland Workforce Solutions
Emerging Business – QuantifiedAg
Enterprise Business – Spreetail
