About 30 members of the community gathered at StartupCity Des Moines Thursday afternoon to continue a discussion about what would best serve the community once StartupCity’s funding runs out.

In January, StartupCity announced funding through Sept. 2014, but a plan for what happens after has yet to be determined.

From a program similar to St. Louis’ Arch Grants and the addition of an accelerator to continued co-working and more concentrated efforts on attracting high school or college-age students, ideas regarding what would best serve the community took many forms. While there weren’t many tangible outcomes from the hour-long discussion, even in its earliest stages the ideas for what comes after StartupCity highlighted the space’s successes and value as a community hub.

While a date has not been set, Christian Renaud said Thursday that StartupCity will likely host a second community town hall to continue the conversation.

To keep the conversation going and feed the next town hall, submit your ideas for the group below. Whether or not you can be there, we’ll bring them to the table.
