The South by Southwest follow-up story for Newsy was just as worthwhile as the first. The Columbia, Mo. startup last week garnered the award for Best iPad Publishing at the MediaPost Appy Awards, where it won the News category in 2011. The company’s free video news app, which analyzes global sources to provide users concise bites, is also available on iPhone, Android and Windows 8 devices. The Awards, announced during SXSW Interactive in Austin, Texas, are dedicated to acknowledging creativity and excellence in app design across all platforms: mobile, social and web-based. — Source: Newsy
